I think my brain was scrambled or something. The real word for the day was wind again. As long as we were heading north, it was great. When we turned west, not so great.

Rest Stop furnished by a youth group.
I met Drew from Delaware last night, and we rode together this morning after our “lunch” stop. It came way too early, and wasn’t very good, but our options were pretty limited today because there’s really not much out here.

Our overnight town is Apache. It’s a very small town (we may have doubled it’s population tonight) whose claim to fame is that this is Indian country. Geronimo used to live here. Drew and I were having a drink in the only cafe in town and one of the older gentlemen took great delight in telling us how people in town would tell him of Geronimo riding around on his white donkey. It’s interesting to get the local perspective of what I’ve only read from the history books.
Camp tonight is set up with Drew, Roger (a professor from near Tulsa), Steve, and Chance. Roger seems to be a character who will keep things lively tonight.

We also got a dinner recommendation from another customer for supper tonight. The Lookingglass family is supposed to be making Indian tacos that are pretty good. Unfortunately, they ran out before I got there at suppertime. Everyone that had one, though, echoed the same opinion that they were really good. I had to settle for some not-so-good barbeque.

Call the Fashion Police! Actually, we found out later this guy is a rattlesnake handler.
I was in camp today by 11:15, in spite of trying to be one of the last out this morning. I wish there had been more to see along the way today. We’re in the middle of cow country out here, and it pretty much looks like it.
Here’s the GPS track from today.
God bless….
