I guess I was due….
After such awesome rides on Monday and Tuesday, my legs were tired this morning! I couldn’t believe I had so little in the gas tank on my way to work. Part of that could have been because Pam and I walked quite a distance last night and then I had a restless sleep, but for whateve reason it just wasn’t there.
It had been a long time since someone pulled out in front of me, but a lady did it this morning on Barnes. There was no traffic in either direction, yet she pulled out right in front of me so close that I had to get on the brakes to avoid hitting her. I yelled “What are you doing?”, and gave her that uplifted hand that is my “moron” signal. She responded with an uplifted hand of her own, so I know she understood my displeasure. Geez! I wonder if they just don’t see me, if they see me but misjudge my speed, or just don’t care because I’m on a bike? Oh well…I’ve just come to expect that once in a while.

iMapMyRide (not my results) for the iPhone
On the way home, I played with my new iMapmyride app. So far, it’s pretty slick, but I’ve not tried to use it for any significant rides. If it continues to work as well as the first tests, it will actually be easier to get rides posted out to Mapmyride.com than using the Garmin. There’s just something about that website that is agonizingly slow when working with the Garmin data, and it’s browser add-in doesn’t actually work very well at times. Here is the ride home.
I had good company on the ride home as well. Jim P. pulled out of the parking lot of the Hammons Tower just as I was passing by and we rode together until we had to part ways at Ingram Mill Road so I could get under the highway. Good to see you, Jim!
Pam seems to be looking forward to some longer weekend rides, so keep your fingers crossed with me that the weather will be dry.
God bless…
