Friday wrap-up
After what felt like a hard week of riding, I wasn’t sure whether I had it in me to go out and do 20 miles on my own before heading to work this morning. That is, I wasn’t sure until I got on the bike. After that, there was no doubt I was glad to be riding this morning. I went out to the Logan Rogersville High School as normal, but then kept going and looped back into the neighborhood over Kinser Bridge for 20.5 miles before stopping at the house to grab my bags.
It is actually kind of rare that I get out on the single for just a bike ride, and it felt good today. I was able to spin along at a fast clip that it seemed like I could hold forever. Some days are just like that. I feel good. I feel strong. I’m not really pressing hard, but I’m working hard. Those are the days that make riding a bike so much fun for me. This morning, I had about an hour and a quarter of peace and solitude. Just me and the bike. Listening to the hum of the tires on the pavement and feeling the wind on my face. It was a good day.
The sunrise wasn’t too bad either, but it didn’t last long. As it got lighter, I could tell there was a storm moving in from the north. I beat it to work, but by less than an hour. No matter…it would actually have felt good to get wet this morning, but when I got to work I brought my bike inside to keep it from getting wet.

The sun is almost here!

It looks like I’ll finish the week with just over 170 miles under my butt. Not bad considering I didn’t ride at all last weekend.
God blesss…

You know, I think that’s one of the reasons I like to work out or ride in the morning. Sunrise is magical, especially from a bike because you’re constantly getting different views of it. When I ride the tandem with Pam I have to try and refrain from stopping every hundred yards to take pictures, but since I was alone this morning I didn’t worrry about it!
Thanks for stopping by!
