Tragedy in San Antonio

I don’t know if you’ve seen the story, but last week a couple on a tandem was struck and killed as they rode on the shoulder of a San Antonio roadway. They were experienced cyclists who were riding appropriately and were taken from this earth by a careless motorist who lost control of his vehicle. No charges were filed.
This hits home on two fronts…..
First, because Pam and I ride a tandem, we feel a special bond with those who do, whether we know them or not. We are in a minority among cyclists, and two of our own are now gone.
Second, because there is now a little girl who has lost her parents. My heart goes out to her. How can she understand? How can she be comforted? Please pray for this child.
Sometimes life is just so unfair…..but it’s stuff like this that makes me more determined to hold onto my Rock.
God bless….

Keri Caffrey, at Commute Orlando, has commented on this situation and the phenomenon of inattentive driving. It’s important. I’ve linked to it.
This is just heartbreaking.
