It’s Friday – and what a great day it was
The morning started off with a great pre-dawn commute to the fitness center. It was cool, but not cold and the wind was just right to make it feel like an effortless ride over to Cox North.
I completed my standard 40 minute power routine, then hopped back on the bike for the additional two blocks to work.
At lunch, I ran with “the gang”. At seventy degrees, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get out and work up another sweat.
The ride home from work was against a strong head-wind, but the weather more than made up for it. I stopped for a quick picture of the Federal Court House with the late evening sun kissing it’s entrance.
Notice that the flag is flying at half mast. I looked it up and it’s in honor of a fallen soldier whose funeral was today.
As I crossed under Highway 65, I saw the smoke from what had to be a vehicle fire. It didn’t take too long before I saw what it was. It had mostly been extinguished by the time I got up to it, but there were still a couple of small tongues of flame visible underneath it. The firemen made pretty quick work of getting it out. There was a lady standing up near the fence that looked pretty overwhelmed at what had happened. I felt sorry for her, but at least she wasn’t hurt.
It sure was nice to ride home this evening without a jacket!
God bless…

This weather can stay all winter if you ask me.
