Minimalist bike
Going down to Sunshine Bike tomorrow to talk to them about a dedicated commuting bike. Should I be considering something like this?
Hmmmm……NOT!
In reality, I’ve got a pretty specific list of requirements. More on that later.

I am very pleased with the Rohloff on the trike, considering your commute something like the Alfine would work well and be much less expensive, get an excentric bottom braket and go with the single speed look. I also love not having a front shifter. My brother commutes on a single speed but he lives on the Springfield plateau. If money is no object http://www.peterwhitecycles.com

That bike looks like fun. Single speed is where its at. Maintenance is a snap!

After an initial shock, that is kind of a cool looking bike. Hope you find a good commuter. I think I met the owner of your bike shop on the Tour de Tick last spring in Joplin.
