Stuff you wouldn’t do for anything…..
When I was in high school, it was a pretty common joke to try to get somebody to walk up to a drive thru window at some fast food joint and make an order. Sometimes you could get some yahoo to do it, but in most cases, they wouldn’t. I for one, was one of those folks who wouldn’t even consider making such a fool of myself. How about you? Would you have done such a thing?
Well, fast forward 30 years and see what I did yesterday:

Yep…I rode my bike through the drive thru at Walgreens to pick up a script. I didn’t really intend to do so, but it just happened. I had walked up at lunch to drop off a prescription, and when I stopped back by on my way home, there was a bunch of congestion in the parking lot at the front of the store. Rather than subject myself to that, I simply pulled into the drive thru lane and waited my turn. As I pulled up to the window, the lady inside gave me a quick look of surprise, then proceeded to handle my transaction as normal. I was quickly on my way.
I didn’t even die of humiliation! I guess that’s one benefit of getting old.
God bless…

I can’t see why it’d be humiliating. I’ve gone through drive thrus on my bike on several occasions. It’s actually quite convenient.

What else would you do if taking it inside wasn’t practical?

It occurs to me that the folks around you might realize that they are seeing a fellow who is doing all he knows to stay healthy and fit, yet he still has to go to the pharmacy on occasion. We are mortal no matter what we do.

Sometimes they have treats for dogs that come through the drive-thru. Did they have a GU gel for you?
