Pretty in Pink

003

Steve takes quite a bit of pleasure at poking fun at my “pink” water bottles, and I recently got a question about them in the comments so I thought I would “clear the air” and defend my manhood at the same time!

THOSE ARE RED!

At least they were one time…..the outer plastic cover on them has gotten a little cloudy over time, making them appear a little more pink than they once were.

We bought them for use on the tandem.   Red, you know….

Although, in the picture above mine is just a plain white one.

Actually, there are a couple of reasons I end up with them on my single bikes quite often.

  • First, they’ve got those nice little straps that make it easy to pull out of the bottle cages.
  • Second, one is the smaller size.  My bike frames are so small that the shorter bottle fits better in the downtube bottle holder than the bigger ones.

So, there you have it.  Not only am I man enough to use pink water bottles, but there is a legitimate reason that I do!

God bless…

My Ron Jon tank top has a fair amount of pink in it. BTW, is it true that all the best bikes are red?

@ Steve A – If you were trolling for a comment from me, you got a bite. I say again, the only acceptable bicycle colours are black, silver and white. How many times do I have to say it?

  3. Jim Phillips Says:

I’ve heard red bikes get harassed more often, or maybe that was red cars and speeding tickets.

For the next 30 days you can always tell them you are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month and ask them why aren’t they. It takes confident man to carry pink.

Pam’s jersey matches the water bottles, but thanks for the explanation.
