Day Off
Pam and I had the day off yesterday. She had a doctor appointment in the afternoon and I was going to wait on an appliance guy while she was gone. Since we had nothing planned for the morning, we slept in a little bit, then jumped on the tandem for a 30 miler to burn a few calories.
Our goal was to stay gone two hours, so I figured we might as well go north, then loop around the dam at Valley Water Mill before heading back for home.
In all, it was kind of lazy ride. We had a nice tail wind until we turned back toward the dam and headed for home. After that, though, we just slowed down and enjoyed being away from the house!
The sun really started coming out the last 30 minutes or so, and when it did we started to realize how much we were enjoying the clouds we had earlier!
The one comical moment of the ride came within the first 5 minutes. We were laboring up the hill on Sunset when I started to feel like I was really stretched out on the bike. As soon as we got to the top, I kind of sat up and stretched, then leaned forward again. When I did, my handle bars dropped even lower! They were loose and pivoting down in the stem! No wonder I was feeling stretched. They were slowly working their way away from me.
It didn’t take long to solve that, but I pulled them too far back around when I did. Rather than stop a second time, I just put up with it until we got home.
Afterward, I spent an hour or so cleaning up the bike from our ride in the rain the other day. As far as I can tell, it’s as ready for the MS150 next weekend as it’s gonna get.

God bless…

I had that same thing happen a couple of days after ingot my Trek on the road for the first time. I was so new to riding I thought it was me – a quarter mile later I noticed the drops pointing towards the saddle. I had quite a laugh over that.

Kirk and I also did an easy 15, I almost chimed in about color coordination on the previous post, but everyone already knows what I was going to say. I miss blue already….
