Slow Down

Sometimes it’s really hard for me to show restraint.  I mean, I love to ride, and I really thrive on going hard.  The problem is, my body is 53 years old and needs rest and recovery sometimes.

I got to that point yesterday.  I had really been charging hard on the way to and from work this week.  Challenging myself on the flats, riding hills, and generally having a ball.  I had a rest day on Sunday, so I figured I was good.

Then on the way home, I realized my legs were totally trashed.  We’re planning to ride the tandem long on Saturday, so I decided it was time to put the brakes on and “recovery ride” the rest of the week.

We’ll see how that goes.
