Texas Blows …..

Boy, this morning was one of those rare commutes that just wasn’t a lot of fun.

  • Temps hovering just under 40 degrees.
  • Fog
  • Mist
  • A strong north wind of 25-30 mph.
  • Rain for the last mile.
  • Dirt and crud on the road.
  • Mud in the air

Wait a minute!  Mud in the air?  Sure enough.  Take a look at the pictures of my jacket after the jump!

According to the meteorologists, there was a big dust storm down in Texas yesterday that has now drifted into the Ozarks.  The rain washed it right out of the sky onto everything outside this morning.  Cars, my bike, my clothes…all covered with Texas dirt!

But the thing is…even though it took me half again my normal time and probably about that same differential in effort, and I got filthy in the process it still beat driving!

By this afternoon, we had bluebird skies, and slightly warmer temperatures, so the trip home was pretty nice.

God bless…

Apparently, all the airborne dirt went up your way, leaving things much nicer down here in Texas.

Sorry about letting a little dust out of the state. I know how it feels. We had a little bit of someone else’s winter a few weeks ago.

I was wondering where all that mud on my truck came from this morning!
